Key stage Two return letter and Collection Points

Week beginning 1st March 2021

This week all staff and visitors of Springwood have been undertaking Lateral Flow testing, which will indicate if they could have Covid-19.

Every member of staff will be testing twice weekly on a Monday and a Wednesday morning.

Every visitor to school will be required to be tested before they enter the building and begin working with any of the pupils or staff.

Below is a diagram to show the process if the tests are negative, positive or void.

If you have any questions about the testing process, please contact Mrs Williams at the school and she will be happy to help you.

Visitors and agencies who work with the school can see our visitors protocol below.

Covid-19 update letter from the Headteacher

Response to Parent queries about the bubble changes

Firstly I would like to thank you for your feedback regarding the changes in bubbles. I would like to reassure you that all decisions made are with everyone's health and well-being in mind as this is our main priority.

The main reason behind the changes is that it allows the bubbles to have more opportunity to be outside and have more time to use our spacious outdoor areas.

Government guidance states that being outside does limit the risk of infection.

When inside the school building children will not be mixing with other classes. Each class will remain in its own indoor bubble.

As mentioned in the above letter, luckily we have had no positive cases of Covid 19.

If any pupils or staff members do test positive there are strict guidelines in place to follow; We would contact Public Health Wales and they would inform us of our next steps.

If any pupils or staff have to isolate due to symptoms or being contacted by Track and Trace, this does not necessarily mean we will have to close bubbles. Having the option for our own teachers to oversee the learning of our pupils in their joint bubble, removes the need for outside agency staff to come in on supply.

As a school we are doing everything we can to provide our pupils a safe, happy environment in these uncertain times. We are working very closely with our Health and Safety officers and following the ever changing Government and Local Authority guidelines.

If you would like any further advice please contact myself - TurnerE34@hwbcymru.net or Mr Farrell - FarrellD9@hwbcymru.net via email.

Many thanks,

Mrs Turner  (Acting Headteacher)
