Eco Committee
Eco Committee members can part in activities such as litter picking, recycling, as well as helping to remind staff and pupils to be as Eco-friendy as possible. We also like to maintain our Spring Gardens and take part in the RHS Flower Show. As a whole we want our school to be a cleaner and more eco-friendly place.
Eco meetings happen every other Friday during assembly time and this aims to teach the children the importance of renew, reuse and recycle. We feel this is important so that they can take it upon themselves to put this into practice in their community, to ensure they help to make their local areas a greener place.
Eco meetings are held by Miss Turner every other Friday during assembly.
We are currently taking part within a campaign linked to reducing the amount of electricity used within our school. The children have monitored how much we use and they are ensuring that all lights and computer screens are switched off when they are not in use.
The Cardiff Youth Council are holding a 30 day challenge to encourage us to protect the environment in our daily lives.
They are helping young people and Cardiff residents to be mindful of the habits that have an impact on our climate with a 30 day checklist of simple every day actions to take to make a difference to our climate.
Get involved in the challenge and share it with your friends and family: https://cardiffyouthcouncil.com/2020/05/27/environment-30-day-challenge/
