Innovation Day at Cardiff White Water Centre

Today 10 brave pupils from year 5 and 6 went with Mrs Turner to White Water Centre at Cardiff Bay for an experience like no other.

This was the second day of the project for the pupils, who had already spent 1 day learning to sail back in June.

The project was all about challenging pupils to be ambitious and capable in line with one of the four core purposes of the new curriculum.

The pupils were indeed both ambitious and capable, and showed their willingness to be resilient, not give up and take risks by climbing and surfing using the indoor wave facility at the centre.

It is fair to say that all 10 pupils have really grown in confidence, and although they found the activities difficult and challenging, not one of them didn't take part with all their courage and determination.

the staff at the centre were very impressed with their attitudes and have a go nature.

We are very proud of their achievements and they have definitely shown that they are both ambitious and capable.
